The CRM Facility and the European Commision have recently commissioned  a study to take a look at Europes future copper supply strategy. The study highlights the growing strategic importance of copper for Europe’s industrial competitiveness, energy transition, digital infrastructure and defence capabilities.

The CRM-Facility participated at the EU–Namibia Business Forum in May 2026, and also undertook a field visit across Namibia highlighted the country’s growing importance as a strategic partner for Europe in the field of critical raw materials (CRMs).

During Raw Materials Week 2025 in Brussels, the CRM-Facility hosted and co-organized four targeted sessions showcasing concrete investment opportunities, technical insights and emerging partnerships across global critical raw material (CRM) value chains.
