Opportunities to forge ties with Africa’s fastest growing economy

From 28 September to 6 October 2026, a public-private delegation from Tanzania will visit Finland, Italy and the Netherlands as part of the EU–Tanzania Investment and Business Forum.

Under the theme “EU–Tanzania Partnership: Turning Potential into Prosperity”, the European roadshow aims to strengthen investment, trade and business relations between Tanzania and the European Union and to showcase concrete opportunities for European companies and investors, including in the field of CRM.

The roadshows will bring together Tanzanian government representatives and private-sector companies with European businesses, investors, financial institutions and other stakeholders. Particular attention will be given to opportunities in critical minerals value chains, digital innovation, renewable energy, agriculture and agri-business, and transport and logistics.

The programme will take place in three European locations:

• 28–29 September – Helsinki, Finland: Digital innovation, critical minerals and renewable energy
• 1–2 October – Cesena, Italy: Agricultural value chains, digital innovation and renewable energy
• 5–6 October – The Hague, Netherlands: Agricultural value chains, critical minerals and transport & logistics

Each stop will combine a business event with opportunities for B2B and business-to-government exchanges, networking and potential site visits to relevant European companies and industrial ecosystems.

For the critical raw materials sector, the roadshow provides an opportunity to deepen cooperation between Tanzania and European partners across mineral value chains. Tanzania possesses significant mineral resources, including graphite, nickel, lithium, rare earth elements, copper and cobalt, offering potential for new investment, value addition and stronger links with European industrial value chains.

The European roadshows form the first part of the EU–Tanzania Investment and Business Forum 2026–2027. They will be followed by a major Investment and Business Forum in Dar es Salaam in early 2027, designed to build on the partnerships and investment opportunities identified during the European programme.
